FIAT 500 Performance Air Intake System - 1.4L Multi Air Turbo - MAXFlow Set - Polished Finish + Red Engine Cover
Check out our FIAT 500 MAXFlow Intake + Engine Cover Set in a new polished finish!
One of the best, if not THE best intakes available for the FIAT 500 Models featuring the 1.4L Multi Air Turbo Engine.
Independent Dyno Proven Power Gains!
This intake has been designed by a partnership of two companies (BMC Air Filters Italy and MADNESS). When designing this intake we partnered with the top air filter manufacturer in the world. BMC Air Filters Italy worked directly with us to help in designing a true, ready to bolt in intake for the FIAT 500 that features the 1.4L Multi Air Turbo Engine. The BMC ITA Filtering System that is used in this intake is used on many high power exotic cars all over the world. This intake system was built around this BMC filter.
The goal was to design and manufacture an Intake System that would utilize top quality parts and provide owners with a sealed system that would provide the best combination of filtration and flow. After months of prototypes and testing the unit was released to great reviews from FIAT owners all over North America. This intake set continues to be the top selling intake for the 1.4L Multi Air Turbo Charged FIAT 500.
This system is not plagued by some of the issues that other systems on the market have, like rubbing on the hood or airbag sensors. This is due to the solid mount we have created for the intake. Our intake also uses even piping diameter throughout the whole system resulting in less air turbulence.
The BMC OTA filtering system is composed of a oval carbon air box containing a washable air filtering element. Substituting the original air box with the BMC OTA, cold air is directly channeled through an internal airflow deflector to the filter and drawn into the engine with a very small pressure drop (patented system). The OTA system uses a combination of high performance silicone couplers and aluminum piping for a direct bolt in fit.
This kit comes with everything you will need to make the conversion. Here is what is included in the kit:
- BMC Carbon Canister with the OTA Filtering System
- High Performance Silicone Connectors
- Aluminum Tubing Polished to a Mirror Finish
- TIG Welded
- Engine Cover included - Red
- Crankcase Vent Filter included
- All mounting hardware included
The Engine Cover is specifically designed to fit with the MAXFlow
intake. Constructed from 3mm Powder Coated Aluminum, it features a
Scorpion Design cut-out in the center. This set includes the engine cover!
The SILA Concepts Thermal Blanket is designed to keep the heat generated from the turbo contained to reduce temperature in the engine bay as well as allowing the turbocharger to operate more efficiently. At checkout you will be given the option of adding on the engine cover at a discount rate.
Time to clean your BMC Filter?:
At checkout you will be given the option to add on the Genuine BMC Cleaning Kit. Add on the cleaning kit to be
sure you have everything you need for the next service. No need to ever
replace the filter module again.
More information on the BMC Carbon Canister Filter:
- 5 Layers of Carbon Fiber for high thermal insulation from engine heat
- Air filter with regenerate material which warrants a high filtration efficiency with reduced drops.
- Oval Trumpet: sophisticated and designed inner system for the channeling, conveyance and increase of the air flow by introducing an innovative system/air conveyor named Trumpet.
- The Trumpet, placed inside the OTA device on the air outlet side, enables to additionally increase the quantity of air to the engine by taking advantage from the dynamic conveyance given by its peculiar shape.
- Air box with a sealing system enabling the best sealing among the components
Usually the original car airboxes work in such a condition as the air
is recalled by the engine in a "depression regime", through reduced
section tubes, thus resulting in high load drop along the aspiration
line. The OTA device with its dynamic inlet works in a "pressure
regime", therefore it provides a constant and high rated quantity of air
to the engine taking advantage of the dynamic effect of the air
In addition to its oval shape, offering high installation versatility, OTA system introduces in its inner part technical solutions which optimize the fluid dynamic of the air to the engine. In particular, the innovative element called "TRUMPET", which is situated inside the air box in the area close to the air outlet, thanks to its shape, favors and optimizes the convey of the air flow to the engine, resulting in the diminishing of turbulence. This solution reduces the pressure drop along the engine aspiration line and, at the same time, takes advantage of the potentiality of the dynamic pressure of the air caused by the speed of the moving car.
The air filter inside the air box 1 is made of a multi layer pre-oiled filtering material which grants an high filtration efficiency against limited pressure drop in the air. The air filter has the function of protecting the engine from all the elements (debris, sand, dust, etc…) in the air flow to the engine during the aspiration phase. BMC air filter has a very low drop (i.e. the pressure difference between the air flow at the engine side and the one at the air entrance side) in order to enable the maximum air flow.
BMC air filter can be regenerated and re-used. Once the saturation level has been reached, it is possible to regenerate the filter by washing and re-oil operation performed by means of the relevant regeneration kit (available as an option at the checkout screen).
Dyno and Datron Laser tests demonstrate the great performance increases given by fitting the OTA filtering system.
This Intake System is designed to provide a power increase for your FIAT 500 that features the 1.4L Multi Air Turbo Engine while minimizing the intake sound that is created by other "open" designs.
This intake system draws air directly from the front air inlet vent that is located in the front of the bumper.
Due to this design you get a system that guides fresh air directly to the air box at a speed and capacity greater than that of traditional systems. The air flow entering the carbon fiber air intake housing is then accelerated further thanks to the help of the air flow deflector that is located inside the carbon fiber airbox.
Greater Air Flow, Lower Intake Temperatures, Higher Pressure all help with maximizing the performance of your 500.
Turbo Thermal Black and BMC Cleaning Kit are options shown in some of
the pictures. Upon checkout you will be prompted to add an "optional" Turbo Thermal Blanket for
$99.99. (Save $50) and also the "optional" BMC Filter Cleaning Kit for
$24.99. These are options that you can chose to add on or not. They are
not included in this set, but are popular add ons.

In the interest of improved air quality, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) requires new vehicle and manufacturers of aftermarket parts to develop engine and emissions equipment that either reduce or maintain specific air pollutants affected by vehicle use. Both the California Vehicle Code (section 27156) and Federal Clean Air Act (administered by the Environmental Protection Agency) prohibit modifications that increase vehicle emissions.
Aftermarket parts manufacturers, particularly in the high-performance segment, are required to obtain CARB approval in the form of Executive Orders (E.O.s) for any product not qualifying as a direct replacement for an
original equipment part. This includes meeting all E.O. requirements in its product development process. This guarantees that users of this product will meet certification requirements when registering, selling, or needing to
pass various emissions tests or Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) programs administered by state or local enforcement agencies.
Make sure that any emissions-related product you buy and install carries an E.O. number or is pending an E.O. Without this verification you are at risk, in potential violation of regulations and may incur unnecessary financial obligations during vehicle inspections or emissions tests
Special Note for California Customers:
This part is not CARB Certified (California Air Resource Board) at this time and is not legal for use in California on pollution controlled vehicles.
If you are located in California please note that we have other options available that comply with the California Vehicle Code. Please contact us directly by phone, email or check our site for details.
