Topolinos are deliberately held back to just 8 hp and a governed 19 mph
(or 25 mph with the optional factory unlock).
Our MAXPower Performance ECU removes that artificial ceiling and delivers a genuine 14 hp and 32 lb ft of torque! This is a 75% power increase and noticeably stronger pull from the first throttle input. Real world top speed typically lands between 37–50 mph, depending on battery temperature, state of charge, and conditions.
This is not a flash or a risky
open and reprogram of your original computer. It is a complete,
pre tuned replacement ECU. Unplug the factory unit, plug this one in,
and you’re done. The swap is fully reversible! Keep your original ECU
as a spare or return to stock whenever you want. Your factory hardware
stays untouched.
What You’ll Feel
Stronger, more confident acceleration that makes merging and keeping up with traffic far less stressful
A usable top speed range that turns the Topolino from a sidewalk scooter into a real neighborhood cruiser
Smooth, progressive power delivery that stays within safe operating limits for the motor, controller, and battery
Real World Performance
Expectations
Top
speed is not a fixed number. Most owners see 37–50 mph. Many cars reach
the higher end of that range once the battery is warm and fully
charged. Some settle closer to 45 mph. Battery temperature, state of
charge, road grade, wind, tire pressure, and vehicle condition all play a
role. This is normal and expected on a lightweight electric platform.
The
ECU is calibrated to stay within safe component limits. No extreme
maps that risk overheating or premature wear. Drive it hard and you’ll
use more energy (just like any EV). Drive it normally and range remains
very close to stock because you’re no longer constantly riding the
limiter.
Frequently Asked Questions
How
fast will my Topolino actually go?
Most cars achieve 37–50 mph. Results vary with battery temperature, state of charge, road conditions, weather, wind, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition. Some cars need a few full 100% charges before they unlock the higher end of the range. A minority settle around 45 mph even under ideal conditions. This is normal variation, not a defect.
How do I get the most out of the upgrade (safely)?
Battery
temperature:
Full performance is available once the battery is warm (roughly 59 °F / 15 °C and above). A cold battery will limit power. Drive for 10–15 minutes or start from a warm garage before seeking peak speed.
State of charge:
Higher SOC (especially above 70–80%) gives the system more headroom. Start performance runs near full.
Full
charges:
Charging to 100% a few times can help the battery management
system recalibrate and unlock higher speeds on some cars.
Tires:
Correct pressure and good tread reduce rolling resistance and improve
stability. Under-inflated or worn tires hurt both speed and safety.
Road
& weather:
Smooth, dry, relatively flat roads with light wind
produce the best numbers. Wet, rough, or steep roads reduce speed and
increase risk.
Weight & Aero:
Extra
passengers, cargo, open windows, or accessories all cost speed. A clean,
lightly loaded car performs best.
Always
prioritize safety. Higher speed capability means longer stopping
distances. Choose appropriate roads and conditions, and drive within
your skill level.
Is the installation
difficult?
No. It is a direct plug and play swap. Remove the factory ECU and install the MAXPower unit. Most owners complete it in a short time with basic tools. The process is fully reversible.
Will this void my warranty or damage the car?
Does the upgrade affect range?
Is a higher top speed legal where I live?
What if I want to return to stock later?
Simply reinstall your original ECU. The swap is completely reversible and leaves no permanent changes to the vehicle’s hardware.
Who is this for?
Owners who love the Topolino’s size, style, and efficiency but want more usable performance and confidence in everyday driving. This is a premium, reversible upgrade for a fun electric vehicle. This is not a track car conversion.
