Stock US Topolinos are held to about 8 hp and a governed 19 mph (or 25 mph with FIAT’s optional factory unlock). The MAXPower Performance VCU removes that artificial ceiling and delivers a genuine 14 hp and 32 lb ft of torque, a 75% power increase you feel from the first throttle input.

This is not a flash and not a risky open and reprogram of your original computer. It is a complete, pre tuned replacement VCU. Unplug the factory unit, plug MAXPower in, and you are done. Most owners finish the swap in 10 to 15 minutes with basic tools. Keep the original VCU as a spare. Reinstall it anytime and the car is back to stock. Factory hardware stays untouched.

Real world performance

We do not guarantee 50 mph. Some vehicles (including our own) have recorded that figure multiple times (in ideal test conditions). Battery temperature, state of charge, tire pressure, weight, wind, grade, and vehicle condition all change the result.

What we do guarantee: with MAXPower installed and the vehicle in good working order, your Topolino will be able to go well over 35 mph in suitable conditions. Drive within your skill, watch the surface, and treat higher speed as extra capability, not a target you chase on every outing.

A warm battery (roughly 59°F / 15°C and above) and a high state of charge give the best result. Cold batteries limit output. Correct tire pressure and a lightly loaded car help both speed and stability. Continuous full throttle use uses more energy, like any EV. In normal mixed off road or closed course use, range stays close to stock because you are no longer pinned against the factory limiter.

Manufacturer warranty. Performance parts can affect new vehicle warranty coverage. Because this is a replacement VCU and not a flash of the original computer, the factory unit can be reinstalled. That does not mean the vehicle manufacturer must honor warranty claims on a modified vehicle. Warranty decisions belong to the manufacturer and selling dealer. MADNESS does not promise that any factory or dealer warranty will remain in force after installation.

Performance representations. Advertised output is approximately 14 hp and 32 lb ft versus a typical stock figure of about 8 hp (about a 75% increase). Observed top speed commonly falls in a wide band depending on conditions. 50 mph is not guaranteed. Peak test figures were recorded under favorable conditions and are not a promise for every vehicle. MADNESS guarantees that a correctly installed unit on a properly functioning Topolino will enable speeds well over 35 mph in suitable conditions. If your vehicle does not meet that guarantee, contact us for support before seeking any other remedy.

Assumption of risk. Increasing speed and acceleration on a lightweight, low mass vehicle changes stopping distance, stability, crash energy, and the consequences of driver error. The Topolino was not designed by its manufacturer as a high speed passenger car. It does not have the crash structure, airbags, or restraint performance of a conventional automobile. Use of this product can increase the risk of property damage, injury, or death. The purchaser and operator assume those risks.

Insurance and registration. Insurers and registration authorities may treat a modified vehicle differently. Coverage can be reduced or denied. The owner is responsible for disclosure to their insurer and for any change in registration or plate class.

Installation. Installation is performed by the purchaser or a shop of the purchaser’s choosing. MADNESS is not liable for improper installation, wiring damage, water intrusion, or use of a unit on a vehicle that is damaged, flooded, or electrically unsound. Disconnect 12V power and follow the install guidance. If you cannot complete the swap correctly, stop and call us.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MADNESS Autoworks’ liability for this product is limited to the purchase price paid for the unit or, at MADNESS’s option, repair or replacement of a defective unit. MADNESS is not liable for incidental, consequential, lost use, towing, rental, insurance, legal, or personal injury damages except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

Intended user. This product is intended for adult purchasers who understand aftermarket vehicle electronics and who will use the vehicle only in environments where that use is lawful. It is not a track car conversion kit and not a license to ignore local law.
